Visit Bullseye ToolsHow to Play Bullseye
Bullseye is a little different from a conventional lottery, in that you choose any six-digit number from 000,000 to 999,999, with the jackpot awarded if you pick the correct number. But it's not an all-or-nothing game, and if you are within five either side of the exact result, you'll win the second-tier prize. There are also lower prize tiers for being within 50, 500, 5,000 and 50,000 either way.
There's a draw every day at 6:00 p.m., with ticket sales opening again at 6:10 p.m. for the following day's draw, and you can buy multiple tickets in advance. Bullseye also offers a discount for those who wish to buy multiple tickets.
Ordinarily you'll pay $2 per ticket purchased, but if you pay in advance to play seven consecutive draws, your ticket price will be just $10 instead of $14. Play 14 draws and you'll be charged $20 instead of the full $28.
In order to play, you simply select a six-digit number combination - you can choose up to three combinations per Bullseye play slip.
Significantly, the rules state that 999,999 and 000,000 are considered to be adjacent to one another. This means if, for example, your number is 999,998 and the winning number is 000,002, you will be counted as being within 4 of it, and not as being 999,996 away!
To play Bullseye:
- Choose a six-digit number (add zeroes to the beginning to make six digits, if needed).
- Fill in up to three numbers per slip.
It's really pot luck - because the numbers are counted in a never-ending cycle from 999,999 to 000,000, so use our Bullseye Tools if you need some inspiration.
Dips
As the winning numbers are randomly generated, there's no great significance to which number you choose. With Dips, you can have your number randomly generated, making it easy to use for the next draw.
There's no hidden complexity to buying your ticket with a Dip - it simply generates a random six-digit Bullseye number for you.
Other than that, you can still choose to play multiple draws, either one, seven or 14. One draw costs $2 per ticket, but buy a multi-draw ticket to benefit from the discount which is unique to Bullseye. –For example, seven draws for $10, the price of five normal tickets, or $14 for $20, the price of ten normal tickets.
Steps for Playing Bullseye
- Choose a number from 0 to 999,999.
- Add zeroes to the start if needed to make it six digits long.
- Choose up to three numbers per ticket.
- (Alternatively, use Dips to generate random numbers.)
- Choose how many draws to play - there are discounts for seven or 14.
Prize Tiers
To win the Bullseye jackpot, you must match the Bullseye number exactly - it starts at $100,000 and grows from there. If the jackpot reaches $400,000, a Bullseye Must Be Won game is triggered, and the prize fund cascades down to the highest prize tier with any winners.
If you don't match the winning number exactly, there are lower prize tiers for being within five either side of it, and then for being within 50, 500, 5,000 or 50,000 of the Bullseye number.
Because of this, the bottom prize tier of 50,000 numbers either side has odds of 1 in 11 - you might expect it to be 1 in 10, but some tickets in this range will claim a higher prize instead.
Match1 | Odds | Average Prize |
---|---|---|
Match Bullseye number exactly | 1 in 1,000,000 | $180,000 |
Within 5 numbers: 1 - 5 numbers above or below the Bullseye winning number | 1 in 100,000 | $10,000 (fixed prize) |
Within 50 numbers: 6 - 50 numbers above or below the Bullseye winning number | 1 in 11,111 | $500 |
Within 500 numbers: 51 - 500 numbers above or below the Bullseye winning number | 1 in 1,111 | $100 |
Within 5,000 numbers: 501 - 5,000 numbers above or below the Bullseye winning number | 1 in 111 | $25 |
Within 50,000 numbers: 5,001 - 50,000 numbers above or below the Bullseye winning number | 1 in 11 | Bonus Ticket (fixed prize) |
1 For prize tiers that do not exactly match the Bullseye number, payouts are allocated to tickets within the shown range above or below it. So for example, if the Bullseye number is 000100, the 'within 5' category pays out on tickets from 000095 to 000105.
